Who We Are

FreightSeal is a carrier verification platform operated by FreightSeal. We provide freight brokers with tools to verify carrier identity, insurance documentation, and load authorization. Our website is freightseal.net. Contact us at info@shifthaul.com.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Carrier data from public records. DOT numbers, company names, phone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses retrieved from the FMCSA public carrier registry.
• Verification records. Timestamps, session identifiers, and outcomes (confirmed, declined, expired) for each carrier verification initiated through our platform.
• Account information. Email address, company name, and hashed password for broker accounts registered at freightseal.net. Carriers authenticate via a one-time code sent to their FMCSA-registered phone number.
• Insurance documents. Certificates of insurance (COIs) uploaded by brokers for AI-assisted field extraction. Documents are processed and stored securely on our servers.
• Usage data. Standard server logs including IP addresses, request timestamps, and error information for security and debugging purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to operate the FreightSeal carrier verification service:

• To send carrier verification SMS messages and voice calls on behalf of freight brokers
• To authenticate broker and carrier accounts
• To extract and validate insurance information from uploaded COI documents
• To maintain verification history for brokers
• To detect and prevent fraud or platform abuse

Information We Do Not Sell or Share

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties. We do not share carrier phone numbers or verification records with anyone outside the broker who initiated the verification and, where applicable, the cargo owner linked to a specific load. We use Telnyx for SMS and voice delivery and Anthropic for document processing; these providers process data only to perform the services we request and are contractually prohibited from using your data for other purposes.

Data Retention

Verification session records are retained for 12 months from the date of creation. Insurance documents are retained for 12 months. Account data is retained for as long as the account is active and for 90 days after deletion. SMS delivery records are retained for 90 days for compliance purposes.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you by contacting info@shifthaul.com. Carriers may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as salted bcrypt hashes. We do not store plain-text credentials. Our servers are located in the European Union (Hetzner, Germany) and protected by firewall rules and access controls.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
